Star South African batter Aiden Markram produced a super effort on the field on Monday (November 24) to help his teammate Marco Jansen dismiss Indian all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy. Reddy was batting on 10 runs from 17 balls when, on the fourth ball of the 42nd over bowled by Jansen, Markram completed an unbelievable catch of Reddy by diving full length.

The clip of Markram’s super effort on the field is now going viral on the internet.

Here’s a look:

World No. 1 Test all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was at the non-striker’s end at the time of Nitish’s dismissal, and he was left disappointed at Reddy’s wicket.

The clip of Jadeja’s frustrated reaction is also going viral on the internet.

Here’s a look:

Reddy was the sixth Indian batter to get out on Monday. In the morning session, India lost four batters for 93 runs in 29.5 overs.

KL Rahul was the first Indian to return back to the pavilion. He was sent back to the dugout by Keshav Maharaj. Markram completed Rahul’s catch in the first slip.

Yashasvi Jaiswal completed his half-century in 85 balls, but before lunch Simon Harmer dismissed him. Jaiswal’s wicket triggered a shocking collapse, as within no time India lost Sai Sudharsan (15) and Dhruv Jurel as well.

While Sai was caught by Ryan Rickelton of Harmer’s bowling, Jurel was sent back to the pavilion for an 11-ball duck by Jansen in the last over before the tea break.

India had high hopes from captain Rishabh Pant, but the left-handed wicketkeeper-batter could only manage to score 7 runs in his first Test innings as captain of Team India. He was caught by wicketkeeper Kyle Verreynne off Jansen’s bowling.

The star pacer, who scored 93 runs in the first innings for South Africa on Sunday, then picked up Reddy’s wicket and on the third ball of the 44th over brought an end to Jadeja’s innings. Jadeja was also caught by Markram after scoring 6 runs from 18 balls.

India need to score at least 290 runs in the first innings of the ongoing match to avoid follow-on.
