India ODI and T20I Squad against South Africa Live Updates: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) selectors are expected to announce India’s squad for the upcoming three-match ODI and five-match T20I series against South Africa today. The three 50-over matches will be played in Ranchi, Raipur and Visakhapatnam, whereas Cuttack, Mullanpur, Dharamsala, Lucknow and Ahmedabad will host the five T20I matches next month.
Shubman Gill was appointed as India’s new ODI captain on October 4, and he made his ODI captaincy debut during the three-match series in Australia last month. But since he is out of action these days due to a neck injury that he suffered on Day 2 of the first Test against South Africa last week, there is doubt over his availability for the ODI series against the Proteas.
India’s ODI vice-captain Shreyas Iyer is also out of action these days due to an injury that he suffered while fielding in the third India-Australia ODI, and he is all set to be rested for the home series.
In the absence of Gill and Iyer, Rohit Sharma can return as India’s ODI captain for the home series.
