Ahead of the highly anticipated opener, reports suggest that Australian all-rounder Beau Webster has been dropped from the side for the first Test.

The much-revered biennial Test series between two of the fiercest cricketing rivals, Australia and England, The Ashes, looms large on the horizon as England look to usurp the coveted grail from Aussie possession.
The first Test of the 2025-26 Ashes series is slated to get underway on the 21st of November at the Perth Stadium. Ahead of the highly anticipated opener, reports suggest that Australian all-rounder Beau Webster has been dropped from the side for the first Test.
The report also added that the Australians were gearing up to hand Jake Weatherald and Brendan Doggett their debuts in baggy green, while star batter Marnus Labuschagne could take the coveted No.3 position for the hosts.
England look to reclaim the coveted urn, which they haven’t been in possession of since 2015 when they beat Australia at home, and break the Aussies’ stranglehold on the series in the past decade.
England surrendered the series in woeful fashion following their 0-4 defeat to the Aussies in the year 2017-18 and look to alter the status quo in the fixture that has inclined the way of the side from down-under.
The 2019 series between the historic rivals finished in a 2-2 draw as Australia retained the urn before the Australians went on to dominate in the 2021-22 edition of the clash with a 4-0 series victory.
Australia have managed to clinch the Ashes series 34 times in all, one more than England at 33, while 5 times the spoils of the series have been shared by the sides. Australia also hold a 20-15 record against the English on Aussie soil in the series.
The Gabba in Brisbane is slated to hist the second Test of the series, before the tour moves to the Adelaide Oval for the third Test, Melbourne for the fourth Test and concludes at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
