14-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi opened the innings for India A in the Asia Cup Rising Stars match against Oman on Tuesday (November 18) but failed to do much with the bat. The Bihar-based cricketer faced 13 balls during his stay at the crease at West End Park International Cricket Stadium in Doha and scored 12 runs with the help of two fours in the 136-run chase. The youngster who hammered 144 runs for the Jitesh Sharma-led side in the first match of the tournament for India A was sent back to the pavilion by Jay Odedra on the second ball of the fifth over.

He was the second India A batter to get out on Tuesday. His opening partner, Priyansh Arya, for the third match in a row, scored 10 runs. The left-handed batter from Delhi, who represents Punjab Kings in the IPL, faced six balls and smacked two fours.

Despite losing Vaibhav and Priyansh early in the run chase for low scores, India A managed to chase down the target of 136 runs in 17.5 overs for the loss of four wickets.

For India A, spinner Harsh Dubey remained unbeaten on 53 runs. The Vidarbha cricketer was promoted to bat at No. 4, and he made the most of the opportunity by smacking 7 fours and 1 six during his 44-ball stay at the crease. Apart from him, No. 3 batter Naman Dhir also impressed with his batting. The Punjab-based all-rounder scored 30 runs from just 19 balls. He smashed two fours and as many sixes for the Indian side.

India A team finished second in Group B, and they will now face the Group A toppers in the first semifinal of the ongoing tournament on Friday, November 21, at the same venue.

On the other hand, the Pakistan A team will face the second-best team from Group A in the second semifinal at the same venue on November 21.

In the ongoing tournament, Pakistan A won all three matches played in Group B. They kicked off their tournament with a dominating 40-run win over Oman on November 14 and then crushed India A by 8 wickets on November 16. In their third match against UAE on Tuesday, Pakistan A secured a big win by 9 wickets. They bowled UAE out for just 59 runs in 18 overs and then chased down the 60-run target in 5.2 overs.
