The move is a significant milestone for India’s fastest-growing airline and for India’s evolving aviation landscape. Akasa Air becomes one of the first carriers to commence operations from NMIA, highlighting what the airline describes as its long-term strategy to build a “future-ready network”.

Akasa Air plans to expand its NMIA operations significantly, targeting up to 300 domestic and 50 international weekly departures over time. As part of its broader expansion strategy, the airline aims to reach 10 parking bases by the end of FY2027, with a strong focus on entering key markets in the Middle East and Southeast Asia.
