In a public advisory, the force asked rail passengers to arrive “at least one hour before the scheduled departure of their trains”, Metro users to reach stations “at least 20 minutes before the scheduled departure of the Metro”, and international flyers to be at the airport “at least 3 hours before the scheduled international flight.”
Officials said the guidance aims to ensure smoother security checks, minimise congestion and prevent last-minute delays as screening protocols become more rigorous at major railway stations, Metro stations and Delhi airport.

Security agencies escalated their readiness after a high-intensity blast tore through a slow-moving vehicle near Red Fort Metro Station on November 10 evening, killing at least 12 people and injuring several others. The incident has prompted widespread tightening of controls across the transport network.
On November 11, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) of the Northeast Frontier Railway intensified surveillance and patrols, according to officials. All units have been placed on heightened alert, with additional personnel deployed at vulnerable points across the zone.
Dog squads have been pressed into service, and anti-sabotage checks are being conducted extensively within stations, railway premises and onboard trains. CCTV monitoring has also been reinforced, with continuous round-the-clock observation of platforms and concourses.

The RPF is maintaining close coordination with the Government Railway Police and other security agencies to ensure “seamless information sharing and effective joint action wherever required,” an official release stated.
Authorities have urged the public to cooperate with security personnel and allow extra time for checks as enhanced measures remain in force.
