iQOO 15 is going to be one of the multiple flagship phones to launch in India over the next few weeks, it will also be coming with the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite version hardware that promises premium performance at a nominal price. And a new report claims iQOO could improve its device support by increasing its overall Android upgrade cycle for the flagship model.

The company has already confirmed the new OriginOS 6 version based on Android 16 for the iQOO 15 model and this big development gives it further weightage that will make people sit up and notice.

iQOO 15 Android Update Promise: What It Says

The report by Smartprix suggests iQOO 15 will be offering 5 OS upgrades along with seven years of security updates. The previous iQOO flagship model has been promised four OS upgrades and 5 years of security patches, so this is a definite improvement. This means the new phone will be getting an Android 21 update in 2030 while its security patches will be active for a further two years until 2032 for the users.

This might sound like a lot of time for the phone to run but having the latest chip means we can expect some level of quality left in the tank by then. Having said that, it is another altogether if people will continue to use the same device for that long.

Currently, you have brands like Samsung and Google offering up to 7 years of upgrades and updates for their products, and Apple is always there with its long support. iQOO is offering flagship specs so the change in software to OriginOS along with better software support makes it a good option for buyers.

iQOO 15 India Launch: Specifications Expected

iQOO 15 will be offered with the new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset which is not surprising and the hardware could be paired with up to 16GB RAM and maybe 1TB storage this year. It also comes with Android 16-based OriginOS 6 version out of the box.

The new iQOO phone comes with a triple camera setup where you have a 50MP wide primary sensor, along with a 50MP periscope telephoto and a 50MP ultrawide lens. All these upgrades suggest the iQOO 15 price in India could start from Rs 70,000 for buyers.
