Muhammad Shahzad copied star Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya’s celebration after Pakistan won the 2025 edition of Hong Kong Sixes on Sunday, November 9. In several pictures going viral on the internet, the 21-year-old cricketer from Dera Ghazi Khan can be seen posing for photos with the trophy like how Hardik did after India won the final of the 2024 T20 World Cup and the 2025 Champions Trophy.

In the final match of the 2025 edition of Hong Kong Sixes, which was played at the Mission Road Ground in Mong Kok, Pakistan defeated Kuwait by 43 runs.

The Pakistani team rode on captain Abbas Afridi’s 52-run knock from 11 balls to post a total of 135/3 in six overs and then successfully defended the 136-run target by bowling Kuwait out for 92 runs in 5.1 overs.

In the summit clash, Shahzad remained unbeaten on 4 runs from one ball, and then he picked up one wicket for 16 runs in one over.

Maaz Sadaqat was Pakistan’s most successful bowler in the second half of the match. He bowled two overs and dismissed three Kuwaiti batters for 29 runs.

Pakistan lose against India

In the Hong Kong Sixes 2025, Pakistan opened their campaign with a four-wicket win over Kuwait on Friday, November 7, but went down by two runs via the DLS method against India in their second match.

On Saturday (November 8), Pakistan faced South Africa in the quarterfinal match and chased down the target of 103 runs in 3.5 overs for the loss of just one wicket. On Sunday, in the final, they defeated Australia by one run in the first semifinal match and then secured a dominating win over Kuwait again to lift the title.

India lose four matches

India also featured in the Hong Kong Sixes but was only able to win one out of five matches. After defeating Pakistan in a rain-hit match on Friday, India lost against Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates and Nepal on Saturday, and then on Sunday, Sri Lanka crushed India by 48 runs.
