Microsoft Edge browser is facing more security issues which has become a concern for money. The Indian government has issued another worrying security warning for those using the Microsoft Edge web browser. Recently the company introduced AI agent features which makes the alert even more of a concern. The latest issue comes with a high severity rating by the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team or CERT-In.

The security agency claims the vulnerability can make it easy for hackers to remotely attack systems and users will find it hard to break the damage at least until they prevent its intrusion.

What Is The Edge Security Issue?

The security agency has given the details about the risks that people should know and the list is quite a lengthy one.

“Multiple vulnerabilities exist in Microsoft Edge Stable (Chromium-based) due to Heap Incorrect security UI in Omnibox, SplitView, Fullscreen UI; Policy bypass in Extensions; Inappropriate implementation in V8, Autofill, App-Bound Encryption, Extensions; Out of bounds read in V8; Use after free in Ozone, PageInfo; Race in Storage, V8; Object lifecycle issue in Media and Type Confusion in V8. A remote attacker could exploit these vulnerabilities by persuading a victim to visit a specially crafted web page,” the alert reads.

The fact that this risk comes with a high severity rating means Microsoft is clearly worried about its impact and how users can be exploited to steal data or take control of the system.

Microsoft Edge Security Risk: Who Can Be Targeted?

The alert says anybody from end user to business using the affected Edge version can be targeted by the hackers to steal the information.

So, if you’re using the Chromium-based Edge browser with version Microsoft Edge Stable Channel (Chromium-based) version prior to 129.0.2792.52 you need to update the browser for your system right away.

Microsoft Edge Update: How To Get It
