Bangladesh Vs West Indies: 3rd T20I – Highlights

In the third T20 match, the West Indies chased down the target of 152-5 in 16.5 overs after Bangladesh was bowled out for 151 in 20 overs. Bangladesh opener Tanzid Hasan shone with 89 off 62 balls, including nine fours and four sixes.

Auguste was dismissed after a brisk 25-ball 50, which featured five sixes. Chase also scored 50, off 29 balls. Together, they amassed 91 runs for the fourth wicket.

Leg-spinner Rishad Hossain removed both Chase and Auguste within three balls, leaving the visitors needing eight runs for victory.

Rovman Powell and Gudakesh Motie sealed the win for the West Indies, who had previously lost the ODI series 2-1.

Shepherd’s three wickets came across two overs. He dismissed Nurul Hasan for 1 in the 17th over and then returned to bowl the last over, removing Tanzid and Shoriful with the first two deliveries.

Bangladesh captain Liton Das won the toss and chose to bat first. The hosts seemed set for a substantial total when Saif Hassan (23) and Tanzid contributed 63 runs for the third wicket.

Holder (2-32) managed to dismiss Hassan, triggering a collapse that saw Bangladesh lose their last seven wickets for just 33 runs.

Litton Das searched for reasons for losses in the series.

“I think sometimes you can’t control some things. When they batted, there was dew. They were lucky to bat second, you can’t control and judge before the game. In the whole series, they (West Indies) batted and bowled well. Before the series we wanted a tough time and they gave us a tough time. We will come back strongly and give our best going ahead,” the Bangladesh captain rued.

Roston Chase lauded his side after their all-round show.

“We want to be clinical, we spoke about our fielding in the team meeting earlier, these things happen but we were happy that we were able to restrict them to 151. This wickets in the series were hard to start on but became easier to bat on later, I felt this wicket was the best of the lot, the ball came on nicely. We lost the ODI series 2-1 but we came back well and the boys performed really well and that helped us to win this series,” said the West Indies captain.

The West Indies had earlier secured victory in the second Twenty20 by 14 runs and the first match by 16 runs.
