When cricketer Virat Kohli purchased the late singer Kishore Kumar’s bungalow in Juhu, few could have imagined it would be transformed into a splendid restaurant. Virat Kohli and his wife, Anushka Sharma, have turned Kishore Kumar’s residence, ‘Gouri Kunj’, into a restaurant named One8 Commune.
Although it opened in 2022, the restaurant has once again become a social media talking point thanks to its distinctive menu and prices. Situated in the upscale Juhu locality, it remains celebrated for its luxurious cuisine, elegant interiors, and soulful music that pays tribute to Kishore Da.
The name One8 is derived from Virat Kohli’s cricket jersey number, 18.
A Reflection Of Kohli’s Lifestyle
Beyond its hospitality, the restaurant also reflects Virat Kohli’s cricketing legacy. Its interiors feature glass ceilings that let in natural light, creating a warm and inviting communal atmosphere.
The menu mirrors the cricketer’s lifestyle, offering plant-based meats, seafood options, tofu steak, mushroom truffle dishes, and recipes cooked in olive oil.
Superfood salads and a variety of vegetarian dishes are also among its highlights.
Prices That Have Fans Talking
According to Zomato, a plate of boiled rice is priced at Rs 318, while salted fried rice costs Rs 348. A tandoori roti is Rs 118, and a cheesecake costs Rs 748.
Garlic bread is priced at Rs 218, khamiri roti at Rs 149, baby butter naan at Rs 118, and baby cheese naan at Rs 218.
A Pet-Friendly Space
One of the restaurant’s most distinctive features is that it welcomes pets, offering pet-friendly meals priced between Rs 518 and Rs 818 per plate.
Virat Kohli has also expanded One8 Commune beyond Mumbai, with additional branches in Delhi, Kolkata, and Pune.
