Google’s Gemini for Home version that runs on smart speakers is now rolling out and available if you live in the US. The company is letting people switch from the current Google Assistant version to the AI chatbot for a personalised way to chat.

Gemini for Home can run on a wide range of Nest and Google Home devices but at the moment Google is giving an early access mode option to the users who are really keen to make the upgrade.

You will have to request access for Gemini on these devices which the company is likely to provide to a limited group of users. Gemini for Home is yet to reach markets like India but we expect that to change next year.

Gemini For Home Early Access: How To Get It?

The Gemini For Home early access is available from the Google Groups settings where you need to check mark on ‘Add me to their groups’ option. Once you have done that, go to the Google Home app, tap on the profile picture for more options, and you will find the early access option given and you can click on it to send Google the request for access.

Getting early access to Gemini for smart speakers means it will be replacing Google Assistant and once you sign up for the new version Google will not let you switch back to the older version again.

Gemini For Home: The Smarter AI Assistant

Gemini will bring its personal and contextual search responses on the speaker platform. Many have used the devices to control hands-free with Google Assistant voice commands, and with Gemini, these queries can be more detailed and the reasoning on offer will be as accurate as they come.

The early access mode is compatible with Nest Hub, Nest Audio and Nest Mini smart speakers. But if you want to trigger features like Gemini Live you will need the paid Gemini Home Premium version. Gemini has shown its ability to interact and be responsive to queries, having the power of AI on a smart speaker is the logical move and Google should bring it to more markets soon.
