The 20 year anniversary iPhone model will be launching in 2027 and it seems Apple is going to ditch the 19 series in favour of the rebrand.
iPhone 20 could be the 2027 flagship to enter the next era
Apple’s big 10 year anniversary iPhone got a big design overhaul with a wide notch and a glass body that got people excited. We’re almost reaching year 20 for the iPhones and the company seems to have big plans in place for the special model that should also be getting some notable upgrades in a few year’s time.
The 2027 iPhone series launch is still some time away but the Apple rumour mill works on overdrive and this is yet another case of what people really want to know. Reports claim the iPhone 20 (or XX?) is likely to feature a fresh design which could even ditch the traditional ports and buttons.
iPhone 20 Series Anniversary Launch: Big Things Coming?
The big design change with the iPhone 20 model could be its all-glass body that is likely to be fully wireless in terms of charging and other tasks. No buttons for power or volume, everything touch-based.
It is like those futuristic phones that we have seen in sci-fi movies over the years. And now, we are hearing rumours about the iPhone 20 also coming with major camera upgrades.
The 2027 iPhone model could deliver flagship-grade photos with versatility that we have seen with Vivo and Oppo phones in recent years. The company is tipped to offer a Lateral Overflow Integration Capacitor within the camera sensor that will help the shutter catch more light and brighten up the details with more clarity.
We also expect the iPhone 20 to have variable aperture built into the main camera, again a big demand among Apple fan boys. While the iPhone 17 Pro cameras have been improved, the overall architecture lacks that high-end finesse that people expect Apple to champion within its existing camera stack.
The company could give us a few clues about these changes with the iPhone 18 Pro models next year, where we should also be seeing its first foldable iPhone in the market. Earlier rumours have talked about the device costing much higher than the regular iPhones but Apple seems to be looking at making it an accessible product within the foldable arena along with its rivals.
