Temba Bavuma will captain in the upcoming two-match Test series against India. The star batter missed the recently concluded two-match Test series against Pakistan due to an injury, but he will be fit to feature in the two Tests against India next month. The first Test between India and South Africa will be played from November 14 to 18 in Kolkata, and Guwahati’s Barsapara Cricket Stadium will host the second match from November 22 to 26.
In the 15-member squad picked for the two red-ball matches in India, Cricket South Africa included three specialist spinners — Keshav Maharaj, Simon Harmer and Senuran Muthusamy — and three pacers: Kagiso Rabada, Marco Jansen and Corbin Bosch.
Bavuma is the only change in the South African Test side for the series against India from the Pakistan series. He came in for middle-order batter David Bedingham.
