NPCI launches AI powered assistant called ‘UPI Help’.

To ensure smooth customer experience on the UPI (Unified Payment Interface) platform, the national Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has launched AI-powered assistant called ‘UPI Help’, aimed at solving digital payment-related queries, grievance redressal and UPI transaction mandate management.

Whenever the users get stuck while doing UPI payment, they can take the help of AI bot to resolve queries and problems. Users can also take help to better understand of various features and guidelines.

Respond Queries On Digital Payment  

Users will soon be able to check the status of their UPI transactions and log or track complaints related to service issues. The new tool will share necessary details with issuing banks to enable quicker dispute resolution, particularly for incomplete or pending transactions processed under the UDIR framework.

UPI Transaction Mandate Management 

UPI users will be able to see all their active mandates (Autopay), in a unified view.

UPI Transaction Grievance Redressal

UPI users will be able to check their transaction status or log and track compliant for services issued. It will be useful for incomplete transactions (status unknown), and to raise complaint for merchant (P2M) transactions for service-related issues which are presently supported as part of UDIR process.

Assistant will be available for UPI users via 1) the member banks’ customer interface channels such as website, chatbot, etc. 2) DigiSaathi website/chatbot, etc. and in due course with 3) UPI apps – by redirecting to the UPI Help assistant and providing API integration to participating members.

Initially, under the pilot project, it will be available for limited users. However, on the basis of results, it will be reviewed to expand the capacity for increasing it gradually or not.
