India defeated Bangladesh by 41 runs in Dubai on Wednesday to book a place in the final of the Asia Cup 2025.

India beat Bangladesh by 41 runs on Wednesday, September 24, to book a place in the final of the Asia Cup 2025. In the match played at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, after being invited to bat first by Bangladesh’s stand-in captain Jaker Ali, India posted a total of 168/6 in 20 overs and then bowled out Bangladesh for 127/10 in 19.3 overs. For India, Abhishek Sharma hammered 75 runs from 37 balls, and Kuldeep Yadav picked up 3 wickets for 18 runs in four overs.
After India secured a big win by 41 runs over Bangladesh, India’s head coach Gautam Gambhir took to X to post a three-word tweet which is now going viral on the internet.
“Into the finals!” Gambhir tweeted and shared four pictures from the India-Bangladesh match.
In the final of the Asia Cup 2025, which is scheduled to take place at Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday, September 28, India will face the winner of Thursday’s match between Bangladesh and Pakistan.
Bangladesh and Pakistan have won one out of two Super 4s matches played so far, and the winner of Thursday’s match will finish 2nd in the Super 4s points table and book a place in the final.

India and Pakistan have never faced each other in the final of the Asia Cup, but this time there’s a real chance of them lining up against each other.
In the ongoing Asia Cup 2025, India have already secured two wins over Pakistan. In the Group A match played on September 14 in Dubai, India defeated Pakistan by 7 wickets, and in the Super 4s match played at the same venue on September 21, India secured a win by six wickets.
Kuldeep creates history
Kuldeep picked up 3 wickets for India on Wednesday and his figures of 3/18 against Bangladesh helped him become India’s highest wicket-taker in Asia Cup (ODIs and T20Is combined).
Kuldeep broke Ravindra Jadeja’s record. Jadeja has played 26 matches so far in the Asia Cup (ODIs and T20Is combined) and dismissed 29 batters, whereas Kuldeep has played 16 matches so far.
In the ODI format of the Asia Cup, he has 19 wickets to his name in 11 matches, and in the Asia Cup T20Is, the Kanpur-based cricketer has picked up 12 wickets in five matches.
