Dinesh Karthik has been named captain of the Indian team for the upcoming Hong Kong Sixes, tournament organisers announced on Tuesday.

The exciting short-format tournament will commence on November 7.

Karthik, renowned for his extensive international experience, sharp leadership skills, and powerful batting, is expected to inspire fans and enhance the competitive spirit of the tournament. Regarding his appointment as captain, Karthik stated, “It is an absolute honour leading Team India at the Hong Kong Sixes, a tournament with such rich history and global recognition.”

“I look forward to leading a group of players with impressive records, and together we aim to bring joy to the fans and play cricket that is both fearless and entertaining.”

Burji Shroff, chairperson of Cricket Hong Kong China, expressed his excitement: “We are thrilled to welcome Dinesh Karthik as the captain of Team India for the Hong Kong Sixes 2025.

“His leadership and extensive experience will significantly enhance the competition, and we are confident that his presence will attract fans from around the world to witness this spectacular cricketing event.”
