Sahibzada Farhan came out to bat as opener for Pakistan in the ongoing Asia Cup 2025 Super 4s match against India but was given a lifeline on duck by Abhishek Sharma. On the third ball of the first over of the ongoing match at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Abhishek dropped a simple catch of him in the third man area off Hardik Pandya’s bowling.
After getting a lifeline on just the third ball of his innings, Farhan made the most of the opportunity and has so far scored a half-century for the Salman Ali Agha-led side.
He was given another lifeline by Abhishek on the third ball of the 8th over bowled by Varun Chakaravarthy. Farhan tried to play a big shot down the ground, and Abhishek had the chance to complete the catch, but he failed to convert the opportunity, and the ball instead went for a six.
Before Abhishek’s second drop, Kuldeep Yadav also gave a lifeline to Saim Ayub by dropping an easy catch of him off Varun Chakaravarthy’s bowling. Ayub was batting on four runs from four balls when Kuldeep gave him a second chance.
However, Saim failed to make the most of the opportunity and got out after adding 21 runs from 17 balls to Pakistan’s total.
He was sent back to the pavilion by Shivam Dube. On the third ball of the 11th over, Abhishek completed a catch of him to break the 72-run partnership between Saim and Farhan for the second wicket.
Saim, who got out for three back-to-back ducks in the last three matches, came out to bat at No. 3 for Pakistan on Sunday. In his place, Fakhar Zaman opened the innings and scored 15 runs from 9 balls with the help of three fours.
