Asia Cup 2025 title favourites India have lived up to the bill so far with back-to-back impressive performances. The Suryakumar Yadav-led India first sliced through a hapless UAE for a big nine-wicket win and then were a class apart from Pakistan whom they swept aside for a seven-wicket win. India have already qualified for the Super 4 clash with a game remaining. They next face Oman and even though it’s an inconsequential game, there may not be wholesale changes with the batters hoping to get more game time ahead of the next stage.

India will next face Oman but are unlikely to tinker much with their playing XI. Since their batters haven’t been tested yet, the batting order is expected to be unchanged. Abhishek Sharma has given India blazing starts in both the victories. (Picture Credit: BCCI)

Shubman Gill has endured a mixed start though playing in his first T20I competition in over a year. He made an unbeaten 20 off 9 against UAE but against Pakistan was out after scoring 10. He will be eager to register a big total. (Picture Credit: BCCI)

Captain Suryakumar Yadav has been unbeaten in both the innings so far. Against UAE he made 7 not out before top-scoring against Pakistan with 47* off 37 in a seven-wicket win. (Picture Credit: BCCI)

Tilak Varma (right) made run-a-ball 31 against Pakistan while Hardik Pandya (left) hasn’t gotten a chance to bat yet. With the ball though, Pandya has delivered four overs for 44 runs and one wicket. (Picture Credit: BCCI)

Sanju Samson, who has been demoted to the middle-order, is yet to bat. India have preferred him over Jitesh Sharma as wicketkeeper-batter and Samson has two catches to his credit so far. (Picture Credit: BCCI)

Kuldeep Yadav is in red-hot form and has secured back-to-back player-of-the-match awards. With seven wickets from 2 matches at an economy of 3.57, he’s currently the leading wicket-taker. (Picture Credit: BCCI)

Varun Chakaravarthy continues to be mysterious with the ball. He has troubled the opposition batters consistently and has two wickets from six overs in two matches so far. (Picture Credit: BCCI)

The only change that India may end up making is resting Jasprit Bumrah and bringing in Arshdeep Singh. Should India qualify for the final, they will end up playing four matches in seven days. And they will want their pace spearhead fresh for the busy schedule ahead. Arshdeep needs 1 wicket to become first Indian to take 100 wickets in men’s T20Is. (Picture Credit: BCCI)
