Bank Holiday Calendar 2025
Bank Holiday Today: Customers are confused whether banks are closed today, September 17, due to Vishwakarma Puja. According to the RBI’s holiday calendar for September 2025, no official holiday has been marked for today on Vishwakarma. Simply means that banks across India are open as usual and banking activities are functioning without any hurdle.
Vishwakarma, often revered as the divine architect in Hindu mythology, is celebrated as the god of creation, craftsmanship, and innovation. Artisans, craftsmen, engineers, and workers across India worship him for skill, precision, and creativity, especially on Vishwakarma Jayanti, when tools, machines, and workplaces are blessed to seek prosperity and safety.
The Central bank has released the official schedule, which includes state-specific observances, religious festivals, and special local holidays. Additionally, all scheduled and non-scheduled banks will remain closed on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month.
