Samsung One UI 8 update brings new AI features, better security and available for the latest devices from this week onwards.
Samsung One UI 8 official update coming to the 2025 flagships
iOS 26 update has made its way for iPhone users this week and now Samsung One UI 8 update based on Android 16 version has got an official release in some regions. The new version is available for those who bought the latest Galaxy S25 series this year. In addition to this, the company will offer the new One UI 8 update for the 2024 flagships, and foldables later this year.
Samsung started with the One UI 8 beta update a few weeks back, focusing on its latest models first and gradually making it available for the mid-range A series devices. We’ve even seen the new Watch 8 series get the One UI 8 Watch version out of the box, and also the latest Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 models.
One UI 8 Update For Samsung Phones
The new One UI 8 update is coming to select regions for now and it seems users in India will be getting it soon. These are the Samsung devices getting the new Android 16 version:
- Galaxy S25
- Galaxy S25 Plus
- Galaxy S25 Ultra
The company also confirmed that Galaxy S24 series, along with the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 and Galaxy S24 FE will be getting the One UI 8 in the next few months.
One UI 8 Update: What Features You Get
Samsung is bringing a wide range of features with the One UI 8 update but the UI overhaul is minimal after making the changes with the One UI 7 version. The biggest difference is the heavy integration with Gemini thanks to multimodal AI at a deep level.
You get real-time AI-based interaction visually and via text. The responses to AI queries are faster thanks to on-device processing (in some cases), and other built-in AI tools from the company.
Samsung has also improved the built-in security of the devices with improved privacy tools and ensure that devices are safe even when there are major hacking risks. You also have Knox security measures claiming to protect the data residing on the devices with One UI 8 running.
