Apple has grabbed attention once again by unveiling the iPhone Air, its slimmest phone to date. The company claims the device offers pro-level performance while remaining ultra-lightweight. What stands out most is the design choice: unlike Apple’s typical multi-camera setup, the iPhone Air features a single rear lens.
The sleek design, created by Bangladeshi innovator Abidur Chowdhury, has already gone viral online, sparking debates as many accuse Apple of copying design elements from rival brands like Oppo and Google Pixel.
At just 5.6mm thick, the iPhone Air manages to pack powerful camera capabilities. Its 48MP Fusion Main camera delivers sharp, detailed photos without relying on multiple rear lenses. On the front, Apple has equipped the device with an 18MP Centre Stage camera, designed to keep users perfectly framed during video calls while capturing clearer, high-quality selfies.
iPhone Air Criticised For Copying Rival Brands
While the design is impressive, instead of getting praise, the iPhone Air has triggered a flood of jokes and criticism across social media. Many users pointed out that the design looks similar to Oppo and Google Pixel devices. While some admired the minimal approach, others argued Apple is moving away from its trademark identity and feel disappointed with its simplicity.
Reacting to the post, a user wrote, “iPhone hai ya Oppo? (Is it iPhone or Oppo?)”

“It’s looking like a Chinese phone,” a comment read.

New Ceramic Shield 2 For Better Protection
Apple has introduced new protective features in the iPhone Air to make it stronger and longer-lasting. The front now comes with an improved Ceramic Shield 2, which is tougher than regular smartphone glass and helps reduce scratches. For the first time, this shield is also used on the back, which will have better crack resistance compared to earlier models. Along with a sturdy titanium frame, the phone is built to handle bending and drops much better.
Inside, the brand has redesigned the structure to fit a bigger battery, while its advanced chip and smart software work together to extend usage throughout the day. A new Adaptive Power Mode in iOS 26 learns how each person uses their phone and manages energy more smartly, making sure users can rely on it even when the battery is running low.
