From the intervening night of October 25–26, 2025, approximately 120 daily domestic flights operated by Air India and Indigo are set to shift operations to the upgraded Terminal 2, said a statement from Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) managed by GMR Airports.
Terminal 2 was shut for renovation April 15 this year. “The upgraded Terminal 2 offers a host of passenger-friendly facilities, like the Self Baggage Drop (SBD) facility and new passenger boarding bridges featuring autonomous docking technology,” the statement added.

DIAL has bought six passenger boarding bridges from South Korea, featuring autonomous docking technology, which guide the passengers to the aircraft door without the need for human intervention. This would be first of its kind in India.
In July this year, the international airport at China’s Lanzhou reportedly became the world’s first one to switch all its jet bridges (a total of 86) to autonomous boarding bridge docking systems.
