Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan finally won his first-ever National Film Award last night, after an iconic 33-year acting career. The 71st National Film Awards<\/a> were announced on Friday, and SRK won Best Actor in a Leading Role for his outstanding performance in Atlee\u2019s Jawan. He shared the award with Vikrant Massey, who won for his role in 12th Fail. Soon after the National Film Awards winners were announced, music maestro AR Rahman took to his social media to celebrate Shah Rukh Khan\u2019s win. He called him a \u2018legend\u2019, and congratulated him.<\/p>\n

Soon after the National Film Awards were announced, Shah Rukh Khan shared a video thanking his fans, directors and family for their unwavering support. Reacting to King Khan\u2019s video, seven-time National Film Award winner AR Rahman extended his congratulations. \u201cLegend (rose emoji) Congratulations (heart-eyed emoji),” he wrote. A.R. Rahman has composed music for several Shah Rukh Khan films, including Dil Se, Swades, Jab Tak Hai Jaan, and others.<\/p>\n

AR Rahman also congratulated GV Prakash Kumar, who won the National Film Award for Best Music Direction (Song) for Vaathi (Tamil). \u201cWishing you many more ..Congratulations,” wrote AR Rahman.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, in the video, Shah Rukh Khan<\/a> expressed his gratitude over being honoured with a National Award. Wearing a beanie, T-shirt, denim, and a sling on his arm due to a recent injury, SRK said, \u201cI am overwhelmed with gratitude, pride, and humility. To be honoured with a National Award is a moment that I will cherish for a lifetime. Thank you so much to the jury, the chairman, and to the I&B ministry, and to everyone who thought I was worthy of this honour.”<\/p>\n

\u201cI want to thank all my directors and writers, especially for the year 2023. So, thank you, Raju sir, thank you, Sid, and especially, thanks to Atlee sir and his team for giving me the opportunity in Jawan and trusting me to deliver,” he said. He also expressed gratitude to his wife Gauri, and their children Aryan, Suhana, and AbRam.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe National Award is not just about achievement. It\u2019s a reminder that what I do matters. It tells me to keep going, keep working hard, keep creating, and keep serving cinema. Commenting on SRK\u2019s post on social media, his Jawan co-actor Ridhi Dogra wrote, \u201cBe well. Take care. Sending best energies. Biggeesssstttttt congratulations,” while Sanya Malhotra dropped red heart emojis. Jackie Shroff, Rahul Dev, and many other actors congratulated him for the win.<\/p>\n
