Sara Tendulkar, daughter of cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar, is stepping onto the world stage in her own right. The 27-year-old has been announced as the new brand ambassador for Australia\u2019s international tourism campaign Come and Say G\u2019Day, a two-year global initiative reportedly worth USD 130 million. The campaign, which first launched in 2022 with its animated mascot Ruby the Roo, will now roll out fresh creatives across key markets including China, India, Japan, and the UK before the end of the year.<\/p>\n

Joining an impressive roster that includes UK food writer Nigella Lawson, wildlife conservationist Robert Irwin, Chinese actor Yosh Yu, Japanese comedian Abareru-kun, and Australian actor Thomas Weatherall, Sara\u2019s presence is designed to draw Indian travellers \u2014 particularly young audiences \u2014 to the land Down Under.<\/p>\n

\u201cAustralia\u2019s warmth and welcoming spirit will feel instantly familiar,” she said. \u201cThe multicultural food and thriving coffee culture in cities like Melbourne and Sydney bring comfort, while the vast landscapes, unique wildlife, and outdoor lifestyle add a sense of wonder. And of course, the shared love for cricket connects us deeply \u2014 you\u2019ll always find someone talking about it in Australia, which makes Indians feel at home.”<\/p>\n

On inspiring sustainable travel<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sara also hopes to use her platform to highlight conscious ways of exploring the country. \u201cBeing an ambassador is about encouraging people to travel more mindfully. Australia has so many experiences rooted in nature, Indigenous culture, and local communities, and I\u2019d love to inspire travellers to explore these in a way that supports sustainability. It\u2019s about going beyond sightseeing to create meaningful, lasting connections with a place.”<\/p>\n

But I equally enjoy the calm of Australia\u2019s beaches, local markets, and caf\u00e9 culture. Indian travellers often seek comfort alongside cultural discovery, and Sara believes Australia offers exactly that. \u201cCities like Sydney and Melbourne are a perfect balance, you can sip world-class coffee while also discovering Indigenous history through walking tours and cultural centers. Coastal escapes like the Great Ocean Road bring laid-back luxury, while foodies can indulge in local tastings across many regions. With her strong social media presence, Sara intends to make Australia aspirational yet accessible. \u201cI believe in sharing travel as I experience it authentically. By mixing beautiful visuals with practical tips, I hope to inspire my audience to see Australia not as a faraway dream but as their next real journey to create the best holiday memories.”<\/p>\n
