iPhone 17 launch will bring a slew of new products but also compel Apple to discontinue some of the older and popular models in the market. The September 9 launch in California will showcase four new iPhone 17 variants, new Apple Watch versions and maybe a new AirPods Pro upgrade too. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

These two will be the first to give way for the new iPhone 17 Pro models after Apple announces them next week. The brand usually keeps only one flagship version on its lineup, so the 16 Pro will be discontinued as per Apple but you can still buy them through other platforms.<\/p>\n

The next two models to go away from Apple\u2019s lineup will be the 2023 base iPhone 15 and 15 Plus versions. You can still see them listed on the official Apple website but after September 9, 2025, that will be overhauled and the lowest available model will be the iPhone 16e. Again, just because it is not listed does not mean you cannot buy the iPhone 15 or 15 Plus anymore but the stocks will be limited.<\/p>\n

Unlike the iPhones and Macs, Apple tends to replace one Watch Series with another. So the launch of the Watch Series 11 will mean the end of the Watch Series 10 variant that came out in 2024.<\/p>\n

Similarly, the Watch Ultra 3 launch next week could allow Apple to phase out the Watch Ultra 2 version that was announced two years back. We only got a new colour variant of the Ultra 2 with the iPhone 16 series last year.<\/p>\n

And finally, it could be the end of the affordable Watch SE model as well. Apple is likely to bring the latest Watch SE 2 version and having two SE variants in the lineup adds more pressure for Apple\u2019s production units.<\/p>\n
