Former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh has slammed former Indian Premier League (IPL) commissioner Lalit Modi after he released a 17-year-old video of him slapping S Sreesanth. In 2008, during the post-match player\u2019s handshake, following the conclusion of the Punjab Kings (formerly Kings XI Punjab) and Mumbai Indians IPL match in Mohali on April 25, Harbhajan slapped Sreesanth after losing his cool.<\/p>\n

The clip of the slapgate incident wasn\u2019t released by the broadcasters for more than 17 years, but during his recent appearance on a YouTube channel, Modi released the video.<\/p>\n

His act was criticised by Sreesanth\u2019s wife last week, and now Harbhajan has also joined the bandwagon. He accused Modi of having a selfish motive behind making the video public.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe way the video has been leaked, it\u2019s wrong. It shouldn\u2019t have happened. They might have a selfish motive behind it. Something that happened 18 years ago, people have forgotten, and they are reminding people about it,” Harbhajan said while speaking to Instant Bollywood.<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel bad for whatever happened. We were playing, and everyone had things going on in their mind. Mistakes happened, and we do feel ashamed about it,” he added.<\/p>\n

Harbhajan, who was banned for 11 matches by the IPL governing council for his act in 2008, once again apologised and said that he made a mistake.<\/p>\n

\u201cYes, the video has gone viral. It was an unfortunate incident, and I have said on many occasions that I made a mistake. Humans make mistakes, and I did one too. I have requested Lord Ganesh to forgive me if I make a mistake again. Mistakes happen.”<\/p>\n
