In a recent conversation with Free Press Journal, Salman Khan\u2019s father Salim Khan recalled the story of how his interfaith marriage to Salma Khan (born Sushila Charak) came to be and also revealed why beef was never part of his household. Salim Khan explained that despite being Muslim, his family never consumed beef. \u201cFrom Indore until today, we have never had beef. Beef is eaten by most Muslims as it is the cheapest meat! Some even buy it to feed pet dogs. But in the teachings of prophet Mohammed, he has clearly stated that a cow\u2019s milk is a substitute for mother\u2019s milk and it is a mufid (beneficial) cheez. He has stated that cows should not be killed and beef is forbidden.”<\/p>\n

When Kunal Kohli directed Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra in Teri Meri Kahaani back in 2012, the two were rumoured to be dating. Actor Priya Marathe, best known for her role in the popular television show Pavitra Rishta and several Marathi films, passed away in Mumbai on August 31, 2025, after battling cancer. She was 38. According to reports, Marathe had been battling cancer for the past year. As per a report by Maharashtra Times, the actress had been undergoing treatment for cancer, but despite medical care, her condition kept deteriorating. She ultimately breathed her last at her house in Mira Road, Mumbai.<\/p>\n

Actress Sumona Chakravarti took to her Instagram to share a disturbing incident, revealing that her car was mobbed in broad daylight by Maratha quota protesters in South Mumbai on Sunday, August 31. Sumona claimed that while driving from Colaba to Fort at about 12:30 pm, her car was blocked by the protestors. She claimed that one man banged on her bonnet, while others banged on the car\u2019s windows, shouting slogans like \u2018Jai Maharashtra\u2019 and laughing. She questioned the law and order in Mumbai, claiming that there was no police, and that she felt very unsafe. She slammed the \u2018lawlessness\u2019, and said that Mumbaikars deserve the right to feel safe in their own city.<\/p>\n
