A political slugfest broke out between the Trinamool Congress (TMC) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) after Lok Sabha MP Mahua Moitra\u2019s alleged controversial remarks against Union Home Minister Amit Shah triggered a controversy.<\/p>\n
Her comments have drawn massive condemnation from the saffron camp, with various leaders making strong remarks.<\/p>\n
What Mahua Moitra Said?<\/h3>\n While speaking to reporters about the infiltration of illegal Bangladeshi immigrants into the Indian territory, the Krishnanagar Lok Sabha MP brazenly said that Amit Shah must be beheaded and his severed head should be placed on the table for display.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf India\u2019s borders can\u2019t be protected, if infiltrators are entering in hundreds, disrespecting our women, taking over our lands, then it is your duty to cut Amit Shah\u2019s head and put it on the table,” Moitra said.<\/p>\n
Referring to PM Modi\u2019s Independence Day address, she remarked, \u201cStanding at Red Fort, the PM himself said infiltrators are causing demographic changes. But even as he was saying this, his Home Minister was standing in the front row, smiling and clapping.”<\/p>\n
Moitra also questioned why infiltration continues despite the presence of the Border Security Force along the frontier. Her statements directly blamed the central leadership for the rising concerns over illegal immigration, particularly in border states like West Bengal.<\/p>\n
FIR Filed Against Moitra<\/h3>\n An FIR has been lodged against the TMC MP in Chhattisgarh\u2019s Raipur.<\/p>\n
Based on a complaint filed by a local resident, a case was registered against Moitra at the Mana police station on Saturday under sections 196 (promoting enmity between different groups on the grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language, etc.) and 197 (imputations, assertions prejudicial to national integration) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), an official said.<\/p>\n
The police official said that the complainant, Gopal Samanto, alleged that Moitra\u2019s remarks were objectionable and unconstitutional.<\/p>\n
The complaint also stated that a large number of Bangladeshi refugees were settled in the Mana Camp area in Raipur in 1971, and Moitra\u2019s statement has created fear among them, as such remarks may provoke anger from other communities against them, the official said.<\/p>\n
BJP Livid At Moitra<\/h3>\n Moitra\u2019s brazen remarks sparked strong reactions from the BJP, with party leader Pradeep Bhandari saying that such remarks are \u201cbeyond politics, pure hate speech, drenched in venom.”<\/p>\n
In a post on X, he said, \u201cDisgusting, Disgraceful! That line from Mahua Moitra is beyond politics, it is pure hate speech, drenched in venom. Her level has stooped this low under able guidance by Mamata Banerjee\u2019s TMC!” he said.<\/p>\n
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that Moitra\u2019s remarks against Shah were \u201cunpardonable” and her party should apologise.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis comment, which reveals the political malpractices of the Trinamool Congress, is an insult to every Indian who believes in democratic values. The Trinamool Congress should immediately apologise to the entire country for this indecent comment,” he said.<\/p>\n
