Zimbabwe batter Brendan Taylor became only the third player from his country to reach the 10,000-run milestone in international cricket on Sunday, marking a significant moment in the nation\u2019s cricketing history.<\/p>\n

Taylor achieved this feat during the second ODI against Sri Lanka in Harare.<\/p>\n

Which Zimbabwe Batters Have 10,000 Runs In International Cricket?<\/h2>\n

Despite getting a duck in the first ODI, Taylor reached the milestone by scoring 20 runs off 37 balls without hitting any boundaries or sixes. He has now accumulated 10,009 runs in 320 innings across 287 matches, boasting an average of 33.92, with 17 centuries and 57 half-centuries and a top score of 171.<\/p>\n

He joins legends Andy Flower (11,580 runs in 276 matches, 16 centuries, average 40.63) and Grant Flower (10,028 runs in 288 matches, 12 centuries, average 32.03) in the 10,000 international runs club.<\/p>\n

In Tests, Taylor has scored 2,371 runs in 35 matches and 70 innings at an average of 35.92, with six centuries and 12 fifties, his highest score being 171. He is the fourth-highest run-scorer for Zimbabwe in this format. In ODIs, Taylor is the second-highest run-scorer with 6,704 runs at an average of 35.28, including 11 centuries and 39 fifties, with a top score of 145*. In T20Is, Taylor is the seventh-highest run-scorer for Zimbabwe, having scored 934 runs in 45 matches at an average of 23.94, including five fifties, with a best score of 75*.<\/p>\n

Taylor became available for selection after serving a three-and-a-half-year suspension imposed by the International Cricket Council (ICC) during the second Test against New Zealand earlier this month. He accepted responsibility for breaching both the ICC Anti-Corruption Code and the ICC Anti-Doping Code. Since then, he has undergone a thorough rehabilitation programme and consistently shown a commitment to personal growth, accountability, and restoring trust. His presence adds significant strength and experience to the team, having played 34 Tests and 284 international matches overall. In his comeback Test, Taylor scored 44 and 7 in Bulawayo.<\/p>\n

In the second ODI, Sri Lanka chose to field first. Ben Curran (79 off 95 balls with nine fours) and Sikandar Raza (59* off 55 balls with five fours and a six) hit brilliant half-centuries, guiding Zimbabwe to 277\/7 in 50 overs. Dushmantha Chameera (3\/52) and Asitha Fernando (2\/67) were the top wicket-takers for Sri Lanka. SL needs to chase down 278 to win the series 2-0, following a narrow seven-run victory while defending 299 in the first ODI, thanks to a hat-trick by Dilshan Madushanka.<\/p>\n
