Any such statement or news is false and misleading,&#8221; according to a <em>Hindustan Times<\/em> report citing sources in the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.<\/p>\n<p id=\"3\" class=\"story_para_3\">The app remains unavailable on both Google Play Store and Apple App Store in India. TikTok, owned by China\u2019s ByteDance, was one of 59 Chinese applications banned by New Delhi in June 2020, alongside UC Browser and WeChat.
