Sarah Jessica Parker is officially bidding farewell to Carrie Bradshaw \u2014 the iconic character she embodied for nearly three decades. With HBO Max\u2019s And Just Like That concluding after its third season, Parker took to Instagram to reflect on her 27-year journey as the Sex and the City heroine and expressed heartfelt gratitude for the ride.<\/p>\n

\u201cCarrie Bradshaw has dominated my professional heartbeat for 27 years. I think I have loved her most of all,” Parker wrote in a deeply emotional post. \u201cI know others have loved her just as I have. Been frustrated, condemned and rooted for her. The symphony of all those emotions has been the greatest soundtrack and most consequential companion. Therefore the most sentimental and profound gratitude and a lifetime of debt. To you all.”<\/p>\n

The actress also called And Just Like That \u201ca joyous adventure,” cherishing the experience of working with \u201cbrilliant actors” and the larger creative team behind the revival.<\/p>\n

Parker\u2019s co-star Kristin Davis, who plays Charlotte York, also penned a touching note following the announcement. \u201cI am profoundly sad. I love our whole beautiful cast and crew. 400 artisans working so hard on our show with deep love. And to our loyal fans, we love you forever and ever,” Davis wrote.<\/p>\n

The news of the show ending was confirmed just as Season 3 started airing. Showrunner Michael Patrick King explained that they had initially chosen to delay the announcement to preserve the audience\u2019s excitement. \u201cWe didn\u2019t want the word \u2018final\u2019 to overshadow the fun of watching the season. It\u2019s with great gratitude we thank all the viewers who have let these characters into their homes and their hearts over these many years,” he said.<\/p>\n

From chronicling the ups and downs of single life in Manhattan to evolving into a tale of middle-age and reinvention, Carrie Bradshaw has remained an enduring cultural icon.
