The National Stock Exchange (NSE) on Thursday, August 29, announced that it will conduct mock trading sessions across the capital market, commodity derivatives, and currency derivatives segments on Saturday, August 30. The exchange clarified that no new software updates will be introduced during the exercise.<\/p>\n

According to NSE, mock sessions are aimed at testing trading systems and infrastructure, practicing contingency drills, and allowing brokers and market participants to familiarise themselves with processes without any financial risk. Trades executed during these sessions will not lead to fund pay-in or payout obligations.<\/p>\n

Capital Market Schedule (Aug 30)<\/h3>\n

The capital market mock trading will begin with a block deal window at 8:45 a.m., followed by pre-open sessions, special pre-open sessions for IPOs and relisted securities, call auction for illiquid stocks, and normal market trading starting 9:15 a.m. The session will conclude with a closing session between 10:20\u201310:30 a.m., and trade modification allowed till 10:40 a.m. A re-login window will be available between 1:30\u20132:00 p.m.<\/p>\n

Commodity Derivatives Schedule (Aug 30)<\/h3>\n

The commodity derivatives mock trading will run from 9:00 a.m. to 10:10 a.m., with trade modifications and collateral value setup allowed until 10:20 a.m. Re-login will also be available from 1:30\u20132:00 p.m.<\/p>\n

Currency Derivatives Schedule (Aug 30)<\/h3>\n

The currency derivatives segment will follow a similar timetable, with normal market hours from 9:00 a.m. to 10:10 a.m., trade modifications till 10:20 a.m., and re-login from 1:30\u20132:00 p.m.<\/p>\n

Mock trading sessions are a routine exercise conducted once a month. NSE said it places the \u201cutmost importance” on periodically testing its trading infrastructure and emergency response mechanisms. As per the 2025 calendar, the next mock trading session is scheduled for September 6, while the last one was held on August 2.<\/p>\n
