Karva Chauth, one of the most revered festivals for Hindu married women, is observed for the long life, well-being, and prosperity of their husbands. Women keep a strict Nirjala Vrat<\/em>, breaking it only after offering Arghya<\/em> to the moon and drinking water from their husband\u2019s hands.<\/p>\n

The festival is celebrated annually on the Chaturthi Tithi<\/em> of Krishna Paksha<\/em> in the Kartik<\/em> month, and devotees follow rituals with great devotion and traditional observance. This year, Karva Chauth falls on Friday, October 10, 2025, with all rituals performed according to auspicious timings.<\/p>\n

Karva Chauth Tithi<\/h2>\n

According to Drik Panchang<\/em>, the Kartik Krishna Chaturthi Tithi<\/em> for Karva Chauth begins on Thursday, October 9 at 10:54 pm and ends on Friday, October 10 at 7:38 pm. Based on Udayatithi<\/em>, the festival is observed on October 10.<\/p>\n

Puja Muhurat<\/h2>\n

The Pradosh<\/em> period on Karva Chauth is considered the most favourable for performing puja. This year, the auspicious time for Karva Chauth rituals is from 5:57 pm to 7:11 pm, allowing about an hour and a quarter for worship.<\/p>\n

Moonrise Timing<\/h2>\n

The Karva Chauth fast is traditionally broken after sighting the moon. According to the Panchang<\/em>, this year the moon will rise at 8:13 pm, marking the moment when women break their fast with Arghya<\/em> and water from their husbands.<\/p>\n

The Karva Chauth fast will last approximately 14 hours, beginning at sunrise at 6:19 am and ending with moonrise at 8:13 pm. Women will observe a waterless fast for nearly 13 hours and 54 minutes, maintaining their devotion and performing rituals throughout the day.<\/p>\n

Rahukaal<\/h2>\n

On Karva Chauth, Rahukaal<\/em> falls from 10:41 am to 12:08 pm. It is considered inauspicious to undertake any significant or auspicious work during this period.<\/p>\n
