Over eight months after announcing international retirement, legendary offspinner Ravichandran Ashwin has also drawn curtains on his IPL career. In a post on social media, Ashwin said he\u2019s done playing IPL but now wants to explore other \u201cleagues” indicating he may still continue playing competitive cricket.<\/p>\n

\u201cSpecial day and hence a special beginning. They say every ending will have a new start, my time as an IPL cricketer comes to a close today, but my time as an explorer of the game around various leagues begins today,” Ashwin wrote on X (formerly Twitter).<\/p>\n

\u201cWould like to thank all the franchisees for all the wonderful memories and relationships over the years and most importantly the @IPL and the @BCCI for what they have given me until now. Look forward to enjoying and making the most of what\u2019s ahead of me,” he added.<\/p>\n

Ashwin began and finished his career representing Chennai Super Kings and in between turned out for various franchises including Delhi Capitals, Rajasthan Royals, Rising Pune Supergiants and Kings XI Punjab.<\/p>\n

Overall, Ashwin played 221 IPL matches and took 187 wickets at an average of 30.22 with best figures of 4\/34. With the bat, he scored 833 runs with a highest of 50 and an average of 13.02.<\/p>\n

Ashwin was an integral part of CSK\u2019s title-winning campaigns in 2010 and 2011.<\/p>\n
