With just two days left for its theatrical debut, Param Sundari, headlined by Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor, has opened advance bookings to a promising response. The romantic drama, directed by Tushar Jalota, is scheduled to hit cinemas on August 29, 2025.<\/p>\n

According to data from Sacnilk, the film managed to sell around 10,000 tickets across online booking platforms within the first 24 hours of sales. Industry trackers believe the numbers could continue to grow before release day, with Wednesday and Thursday expected to push advance sales higher. Trade analysts are projecting an opening-day collection of nearly Rs 10 crore, which would be considered a solid start for the film.<\/p>\n

The rom-com arrives in a year that has already seen several releases in the same genre, including Loveyapa, Mere Husband Ki Biwi, and Bhool Chuk Maaf. Of these, only the Rajkummar Rao\u2013Wamiqa Gabbi starrer managed to make a significant mark at the box office. That film, interestingly, was also backed by Maddock Films, the banner behind Param Sundari. How this new release performs at the ticket windows is being closely watched.<\/p>\n

Both lead stars carry high stakes with this project. Sidharth Malhotra has been searching for a theatrical hit following a series of underwhelming outings, while Janhvi Kapoor is also hoping to register a box-office success after a mixed run at the cinemas.<\/p>\n

On the censorship front, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) cleared Param Sundari with a U\/A 13+ certificate. The board approved the film without demanding any visual edits but muted a few words, including \u201cchurch,” \u201cfather,” and \u201cbloody.”<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Janhvi Kapoor\u2019s portrayal has already become a subject of discussion, particularly her accent showcased in the trailer. While some social media users criticised the performance, Kapoor clarified in an interview with ET Digital that her character\u2019s background explains the choice.<\/p>\n

She said, \u201cOf course, I\u2019m not a Malayali, and neither was my mother, but my character is actually half-Tamilian and half-Malayali. I\u2019ve always been very interested in that terrain and that culture, and I\u2019m also a huge fan of Malayalam cinema as well. So yeah, I think it was just a very fun, interesting story, and I\u2019m so happy and grateful that I could be a part of it.”<\/p>\n
