Taking to his Instagram handle, Hansal Mehta shared a series of photos and wrote, \u201cExactly a year ago, we called it a wrap on the principal photography of #Gandhi. What began as an idea, then a daunting mountain to climb, slowly turned into days and nights of relentless work, doubt, discovery, and joy. And here we are one year later\u2026 counting down to just 10 days before the world sees it for the first time at #TIFF50 on September 6, 2025. I carry with me immense gratitude for the extraordinary women and men who poured their hearts into the telling of this story. They stood beside me through chaos and calm, through exhaustion and exhilaration. This premiere isn\u2019t just a milestone. Earlier this month, Hansal Mehta has unveiled the first official poster of his much-awaited series Gandhi, starring Pratik Gandhi in the titular role. The announcement has created excitement, as the series is set to achieve a historic milestone. It will be the first Indian series to premiere at the prestigious Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). Taking to his Instagram handle, Hansal Mehta shared the poster and wrote, \u201cWe are honored to announce the world premiere of Gandhi at the 50th Toronto International Film Festival 2025, the first Indian series to be selected in TIFF\u2019s prestigious Primetime slate! This series is Produced by Applause Entertainment, Directed by Hansal Mehta and the Music is Composed by A R Rahman.” The poster shows Pratik Gandhi in an Gandhi avatar. AR Rahman shared his enthusiasm on the social platform X, stating, \u201cGlad to announce the world premiere of Gandhi at the 50th Toronto International Film Festival 2025 (sic).” Reportedly, the series is based on Ramachandra Guha\u2019s renowned works, \u2018Gandhi before India\u2019 and \u2018Gandhi: The Years that Changed the World\u2019, which provide an in-depth exploration of Gandhi\u2019s impact on India and beyond.<\/p>\n
