An FIR has been registered against actor Vijay and 10 others for manhandling the crowd at Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) rally.<\/p>\n

According to sources, the FIR has been registered under sections 296 (B), 115 (2) and 182 (2) of the Bharatiya Nayay Sanhita (BNS).<\/p>\n

The development came after an advocate hailing from Thiruthuraipoondi, lodged a complaint against TVK founder Vijay alleging that the actor-turned-politician made demeaning remarks against Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin.<\/p>\n

Vijay, one of Tamil cinema\u2019s most celebrated actors, announced his entry into electoral politics in February 2024 by launching Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam.<\/p>\n

The TVK founder claimed that Tamil Nadu 2026 is a straight fight between his Tamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam and the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), dismissing the principal opposition party, the All-India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam AIADMK) as a non-entity.<\/p>\n
