Film producer Boney Kapoor has moved the Madras High Court, alleging that three individuals have been unlawfully claiming rights over a Chennai property of his late wife, actress Sridevi. As reported by The Hindu, Kapoor<\/a> filed a plea and shared details of an alleged \u201cfraud” by the three individuals.<\/p>\n

What Did Boney Kapoor Tell Madras High Court?<\/h4>\n

Boney Kapoor told the court that Sridevi had purchased the property on April 19, 1988, from a person named M.C. Sambanda Mudaliar. This man had three sons and two daughters. The family members had entered into a mutual arrangement in February 1960, with respect to the division of the property between them. Based on this agreement, Sridevi purchased the property.<\/p>\n

However, in recent times, three people have been claiming rights over this property. Of these three people, one is a woman, who claims to be the second wife of one of the three sons of Mr. Mudaliar, and the other two are her sons.<\/p>\n

In his plea, Boney Kapoor pointed out that the second wife claims to have got married on February 5, 1975. Therefore, her marriage to Mudaliar\u2019s son cannot be considered legal since his first wife had died only on June 24, 1999.<\/p>\n

Boney Kapoor also questioned the jurisdiction of the revenue official to issue a legal heirship certificate to the three individuals and asked the court to revoke it at the earliest.<\/p>\n

Hearing Boney Kapoor\u2019s plea, Justice N. Anand Venkatesh directed the Tambaram Taluk Tahsildar to take a decision within four weeks.<\/p>\n
