Bank Holiday Today: Banks To Remain Closed In Several States From August 25.<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n

RBI Bank Holiday In August 2025:<\/strong> Public and private sector banks across multiple states will remain closed on August 25, 27 and 28, 2025, due to regional festivals and observances, as per the holiday list issued by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).<\/span><\/p>\n

On August 25, banks in Guwahati will remain shut. The closure comes in view of local festivities and will affect branch operations in these regions. This closure will be due to the death anniversary of Shreemant Shankardev, a great saint and social reformer of the 16th century. He was born in 1449 and passed away in 1568. His death anniversary is observed every year in Assam with devotion and respect. On this day, banking operations come to a halt.<\/span><\/p>\n

On August 27, banks in Ahmedabad, Belapur, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Nagpur, Panaji and Vijayawada will remain closed, followed by holidays on August 28 in Bhubaneswar and Panaji. While Ganesh Chaturthi falls on August 27, in some places, it will be observed on August 28. These holidays are part of the RBI\u2019s regional holiday calendar under the Negotiable Instruments Act, which varies across states depending on local customs and festivals.<\/span><\/p>\n

It is important to note that these holidays are state-specific, meaning banks will continue to operate normally in other parts of the country.<\/span><\/p>\n

During bank holidays, customers can continue to access services through net banking, mobile banking, UPI, and ATMs. While these digital platforms remain operational for transactions, cheque clearing and other physical banking activities governed by the Negotiable Instruments Act will not be processed on these days.<\/span><\/p>\n
