Priyadarshan Plans To Retire After Akshay Kumar’s Hera Pheri 3<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n

Priyadarshan, known for delivering some of Bollywood\u2019s most iconic comedies, has revealed that he is planning to retire from filmmaking after completing a few pending projects \u2014 including the much-awaited Hera Pheri 3<\/a> with Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty and Paresh Rawal. He is currently busy with Haiwaan and is also planning to make a film with Mohanlal.<\/p>\n

In conversation with Onmanorama, Priyadarshan opened up about his retirement plans and said, \u201cOnce I complete these films, I hope to retire. I\u2019m getting tired.” On sequels, he admitted, \u201cI don\u2019t usually revisit my original films with sequels, it\u2019s not my preferred style of working. But I will definitely make\u00a0Hera Pheri\u00a03, as the producers have been requesting it for a long time.”<\/p>\n

Mohanlal to join Akshay and Saif on screen<\/strong><\/p>\n

Speaking to OnManorama from the film\u2019s Kochi set, Priyadarshan confirmed that Haiwaan is a remake of his Malayalam film Oppam but with significant changes. He revealed that Mohanlal, who led the original, will be part of the Hindi version too. \u201cHis character will definitely be a surprise to the audience,” the filmmaker teased. On his rapport with Akshay, he added, \u201cIt\u2019s all about comfort. For me, he is Bollywood\u2019s Mohanlal.”<\/p>\n

More stars and locations lined up<\/strong><\/p>\n

The film, produced by KVN Productions and Thespian Films, also features Shriya Pilgaonkar and Saiyami Kher in leading roles. After wrapping its Kochi schedule, the team will move to Vagamon, Ooty and later Mumbai.<\/p>\n

Akshay Kumar On Haiwaan<\/strong><\/p>\n

Akshay Kumar will reportedly take on the role of the villain in Haiwaan. When asked about the film\u2019s title, the actor jokingly told Hindustan Times, \u201cThis is something that was written in my destiny. First, I did a film called Insaan. Then after that, I did Jaanwar. Now I\u2019m doing Haiwaan. So the trilogy is complete \u2014 Insaan, Jaanwar, Haiwaan.” However, he laughed it off and added, \u201cIt\u2019s not something that was planned this way.”<\/p>\n

Akshay Kumar\u2019s work front:<\/strong><\/p>\n

The actor is currently gearing up for Jolly LLB 3 with Arshad Warsi. The film trailer has released and it has impressed everyone. Apart from this he also has Bhoot Bangla. He has recently announced Haiwan with Saif Ali Khan. The project also reunites Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan, who previously worked together in Main Khiladi Tu Anari (1994) and Tashan (2008). This time, they step into Priyadarshan\u2019s suspense-driven thriller. Akshay posted a behind-the-scenes video from the first day of shoot, showing him with a clapboard while Saif and the director shared a laugh. In the clip, Akshay wore a T-shirt with the word Saint, which led Priyadarshan to joke that Saif should be wearing it instead, while Akshay held the Haiwaan slate. Akshay captioned the video, \u201cHum sab hi hain thode se shaitaan\u2026 Koi upar se Saint, koi andar se Haiwaan.”<\/p>\n
