Southern Africa will host the 2027 World Cup.<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n

Cricket South Africa (CSA) has announced the venues for the 2027 ICC Cricket World Cup, which will be jointly hosted with Namibia and Zimbabwe.<\/p>\n

CSA views the 2027 CWC as a unique chance to expand cricket\u2019s reach and participation across Southern Africa, showcasing the region\u2019s rich cultural identity through a distinctly African event experience. By bringing cricket to non-traditional areas, CSA aims to grow the sport in line with its strategic goal of inclusivity and access.<\/p>\n

Together with Zimbabwe and Namibia, CSA is concentrating on delivering a bold and unifying event across host cities including Johannesburg, Pretoria, Cape Town, Durban, Gqeberha, Bloemfontein, East London, and Paarl, where 44 matches will be held. An additional 10 matches will take place in Zimbabwe and Namibia.<\/p>\n

The board also introduced the ICC Men\u2019s Cricket World Cup 2027 Local Organising Committee Board (LOCB), chaired by Independent Chairman Trevor Manuel.<\/p>\n

Trevor Manuel, with a background in government leadership, where he led economic reform and national development planning, brings the discipline and strategy needed for both sport and board governance.<\/p>\n

Manuel is supported by six Independent Non-Executive Directors, five Non-Independent Non-Executive Directors, and three Ex-Officio members, constituting the full Board.<\/p>\n

With 2027 approaching, the Board is tasked with organising a memorable Cricket World Cup and realising CSA\u2019s vision. The Board possesses extensive knowledge and expertise in finance, education, law, and strategic thinking.<\/p>\n

CSA President, Rihan Richards, said, \u201c24 years have passed since the last ICC CWC tournament took place on African soil. This makes the 2027 CWC a sought-after opportunity to create a unique platform for attracting new fans while engaging existing fans through digital innovation, connecting with the African continent, and the world.”<\/p>\n

CSA Board Chairperson, Pearl Maphoshe, stated, \u201cCSA\u2019s vision is to stage a global, inspiring event which reflects the face of South Africa \u2013 diverse, inclusive, and united. The tournament will be vibrantly different in its style and atmosphere, and its experiences. It will provide players, fans, and partners with a unique, unforgettable experience.<\/p>\n

\u201cCSA offers its full support to the appointed LOCB and is confident in their ability to successfully deliver on the mandate set, ensuring a seamless and impactful event,” he concluded.<\/p>\n
