The exemption came into effect on August 22, 2025.<\/p>\n<p>The policy, framed under the Motor Vehicles Taxation Act of 1958, was approved by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar. Maharashtra&#8217;s Transport Minister, Pratap Sarnaik, confirmed the implementation of the initiative during a press briefing.<\/p>\n<p>All categories of electric vehicles, including four-wheelers and buses, will benefit from the exemption. He added that the move is in line with the state&#8217;s long-standing commitment to green mobility and sustainable infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p>The exemption will apply across critical infrastructure corridors, including the Atal Setu, connecting Mumbai and Navi Mumbai, the busy Mumbai-Pune Expressway, and the high-speed Samruddhi Mahamarg, which links Mumbai and Nagpur.<\/p>\n<p>Industry analysts have welcomed the move, calling it a boost for Maharashtra&#8217;s growing EV ecosystem.
