Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday flagged the issue of illegal immigrants in Bihar and vowed to throw them out of the country. His remarks came as the opposition parties continue to protest over the Election Commission\u2019s Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise in poll-bound Bihar.<\/p>\n
Addressing a gathering in Gayaji, the Prime Minister hit out at the Congress and Lalu Prasad\u2019s Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) over the alleged appeasement of immigrants.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe increasing population of illegal immigrants in the country is a matter of concern. In the bordering areas of Bihar, demography is rapidly changing. The NDA government has decided not to let illegal immigrants decide the future of our country. We will not let immigrants take away the jobs meant for the people of Bihar\u2026 To tackle this threat, I have proposed to start a demographic mission. This mission will begin its work shortly. We will throw out every immigrant\u2026 People of Bihar need to beware of the supporters of these immigrants in the country,” he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cCongress and RJD want to take away the rights of the people of Bihar and give them to immigrants for appeasement and to increase their vote bank,” he added.<\/p>\n
In his Independence Day speech, the Prime Minister underlined the importance of safeguarding India\u2019s demographic integrity. \u201cThe imminent dangers of demographic imbalance due to infiltration and illegal migration in border areas are high, thereby affecting citizens\u2019 livelihoods,” he said.<\/p>\n
PM Modi also announced that a High-Powered Demography Mission will be launched aimed at ensuring India\u2019s unity, integrity, and security, tackling both strategic and social challenges.<\/p>\n
PM Modi laid the foundation stone and inaugurated multiple development projects worth around Rs 13,000 crores for multiple sectors, including Power, Road, Health, Urban Development and Water Supply.<\/p>\n
PM Modi also defended the central government\u2019s new bills for the removal of the prime minister, chief ministers and ministers arrested on serious criminal charges for 30 days.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf a government employee is imprisoned for 50 hours, then he loses his job automatically, be it a driver, a clerk or a peon. But a CM, a Minister, or even a PM can enjoy staying in the government even from jail\u2026 Some time ago, we saw how files were being signed from jail and how government orders were given from jail. If leaders have such an attitude, how can we fight corruption\u2026 The NDA government has brought a law against corruption, and the Prime Minister also comes under its purview,” he said.<\/p>\n
