Google’s new Pixel foldable goes up against Samsung’s new Z Fold 7<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n

Google Pixel 10 launch brings another foldable to the market this week, which will have competition in the form of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 from Samsung or the Vivo X Fold 5 model. But over here, our focus is on the Google vs Samsung foldable battle, which has been renewed this year with their respective upgrades. <\/span><\/p>\n

Google has relied on Samsung to power its Pixel phones<\/a> for many years, while Samsung holds the laurel for starting the foldable category long back. <\/span><\/p>\n

Now, these two giants are hoping to show they mean business with the Pixel 10 Pro Fold and the Galaxy Z Fold 7 that are priced similarly for buyers in India. These get the design upgrades, hardware changes and other important areas but how do they stack up against each other, here\u2019s a look at their price, specs and more.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold vs Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 Price In India<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold comes in a single 256GB variant to India which is priced at Rs 1,72,999. Samsung\u2019s Galaxy Z Fold 7 model makes no such concessions and you get all the 256GB\/512GB and even the 1TB variants, that too in different colours. But the starting price of the Z Fold 7 is Rs 1,74,999 in the country.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold vs Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7: Design And Display<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The new Pixel 10 Pro foldable design has actually become slightly thicker with 5.2mm (5.1mm earlier) in the unfolded and 10.8mm (10.5mm previously) when you fold it. The weight has also gone up from 257 grams to 258 grams for the Pixel 10 Pro Fold. <\/span><\/p>\n

Compared to this, Samsung has made its Z Fold 7 thinner and lighter at 4.2mm and 8.9mm unfolded and folded dimensions, respectively. More importantly, you now get a Fold that weighs 215 grams, which is a 20+ grams shedding from the Z Fold 6 version. Google does manage to bring IP68 rating while Samsung is still only giving IP48 rating for its new foldable.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The back of the Pixel 10 Pro Fold gets Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection, similar to Samsung\u2019s foldable.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Coming to the displays, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold has an 8-inch LTPO OLED 120Hz panel with 3000 nits peak, and a 6.4-inch OLED 120Hz cover display, also with 3000 nits peak brightness level. The Z Fold 7 sports an 8-inch foldable AMOLED LTPO 120Hz with 2600 nits peak brightness, while the cover has a 6.5-inch AMOLED LTPO 120Hz panel.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold vs Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7: Hardware And UI<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Google is using the Tensor G5 chipset to power the Pixel 10 Pro Fold model and in India you get it with 256GB storage and 16GB RAM. Samsung\u2019s Z Fold 7 uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC with 12GB or 16GB RAM options, and available with 256GB, 512GB and 1TB storage.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Google is offering the Android 16 version with the Pixel UI on the Pixel 10 series. Samsung was the first to bring Android 16 to the market with the One UI 8 version on the Galaxy Z Fold 7 model last month. Both the devices will get 7 OS upgrades along with 7 years of security updates.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold vs Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7: Cameras<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Google is offering triple rear cameras on its new foldable once again. You have a 48MP wide sensor with OIS, a 10.8MP telephoto lens with OIS, and a 10.5MP ultrawide lens. The front of the device has a 10MP wide and 10MP sensor on the cover.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Samsung\u2019s Z Fold 7 features a 200MP wide primary with OIS, a 10MP telephoto lens with OIS and 3x optical zoom, and a 12MP ultrawide lens. The front has a 10MP ultrawide and 10MP shooter on the cover.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold vs Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7: Battery And Charging<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Google has upgraded the Pixel 10 Pro Fold with a 5015mAh battery that supports 30W wired, 15W Qi2 wireless charging speeds.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Samsung has gone with the same 4,400mAh battery like its predecessor on the Z Fold 7 that gets the same 25W wired and 15W wireless charging support. <\/span><\/p>\n
