Indian stalwarts Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli returned to the ICC rankings, hours after vanishing from the listing due to a \u2018technical glitch\u2019. Rohit became the world\u2019s No. 2 ODI batter last week, while Kohli grabbed the 4th<\/sup> spot with 736 rating points. But on Wednesday, their names disappeared from the ICC website. Later in the day, the two names were back in the listings, and as learned, it was a fault at the technological end.<\/p>\n

According to the Wisden, the ICC confirmed that there have been a \u2018number of issues\u2019, leading to these blunders.<\/p>\n

\u201cA number of issues in this week\u2019s rankings are currently being investigated,” the ICC told Wisden.<\/p>\n

However, both names reappeared later with Kohli and Rohit at their respective positions.<\/p>\n

India\u2019s wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav has slipped to third in the latest ICC ODI bowlers\u2019 rankings released on Wednesday, with South Africa\u2019s Keshav Maharaj reclaiming the No. 1 spot. Maharaj regained the top position after his brilliant spell of 5 for 33 in Cairns helped South Africa defeat Australia by 98 runs in the opening ODI of their three-match series.<\/p>\n

The 35-year-old, who was named Player of the Match, overtook Kuldeep and Sri Lanka\u2019s Maheesh Theekshana, marking his return to the top\u2014a position he briefly held in November and December 2023. Among Indian bowlers, Ravindra Jadeja is the only other name in the top 10. India, notably, has not featured in an ODI since lifting the Champions Trophy.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere, West Indies pacer Jayden Seales climbed 15 places to 18th after his match-winning six for 18 against Pakistan. Pakistan leg-spinner Abrar Ahmed (joint-39th, up 15) and West Indies\u2019 Roston Chase (58th, up five) also made gains.<\/p>\n

In batting, Shubman Gill continues to lead with 784 points, while Shreyas Iyer remains sixth. West Indies captain Shai Hope jumped to ninth following his unbeaten 120 against Pakistan. Meanwhile, in T20I rankings, India\u2019s Abhishek Sharma and Tilak Varma hold the top two spots, with Suryakumar Yadav and Yashasvi Jaiswal also in the top 10.<\/p>\n
