The India women\u2019s cricket team will undergo a week-long preparatory camp in Visakhapatnam before the ODI World Cup. As per IANS, players are expected to arrive in Visakhapatnam on August 24, with the camp commencing the following day.<\/p>\n

The camp will include the entire 15-member World Cup squad and reserve players, though the detailed schedule is yet to be finalised. Sources mentioned, \u201cThose team members who are in Australia for the ongoing \u2018A\u2019 tour may join the camp directly in Visakhapatnam after the four-day game.”<\/p>\n

Recently, the Harmanpreet Kaur-led team participated in a ten-day preparatory camp at the BCCI Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru to gear up for the Women\u2019s ODI World Cup starting on September 30.<\/p>\n

The CoE camp focused on strength and conditioning, match simulations, and skill-specific drills. The selection of Visakhapatnam for the week-long camp is strategic, considering the Indian team has league stage matches against South Africa and defending champions Australia on October 9 and 12, respectively.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday, India revealed its 15-member squad and five reserve players during a press conference by captain Harmanpreet and chief selector Neetu David at the BCCI HQ in Mumbai. In the squad, fast bowler Renuka Singh Thakur and all-rounder Amanjot Kaur were included after recovering from their injuries.<\/p>\n

Amanjot has been rested for the three-match ODI series against Australia prior to the World Cup to manage a back issue flare-up, while Renuka has recovered from a stress fracture. Shafali Verma missed out on selection but is part of the India \u2018A\u2019 team for the World Cup warm-up games.<\/p>\n

India will commence the eight-team tournament against co-hosts Sri Lanka on September 30. India has never won the Women\u2019s ODI World Cup but were runners-up in the 2005 and 2017 editions.<\/p>\n
