India\u2019s venture capital fundraising has risen so far in 2025, driven by a flurry of startups backed by strong fundamentals, significantly ahead of 2024. According to a Moneycontrol report citing Bain & Company and Indian Venture and Alternate Capital Association (IVCA) report, 18 venture capital firms have raised to $3.2 billion against the five-year low in 2024 at $2.7 billion.<\/p>\n

The high fundraising is being driven by global as well as domestic names, including Accel ($650 million), A91 Partners ($665 million), Bessemer Venture Partners ($350 million), Cornerstone VC ($200 million) and Prime Venture Partners ($100 million), as per Moneycontrol report.<\/p>\n

Several more firms, including Nexus Venture Partners, Fireside Ventures, and Info Edge Ventures, are currently in the market to raise funds. If these deals go through, the total fundraising could touch $4.6 billion \u2014 surpassing 2023\u2019s $4 billion and signaling a sharp rebound from last year\u2019s slowdown.<\/p>\n

Dr Pankaj Jethwani, Managing Partner at W Health Ventures told Moneycontrol that high-quality funds can raise capital in any cycle. \u201cFund cycles are kicking in, and LP sentiment towards India is cautiously optimistic,” he added, saying with China largely off the table for many Western LPs, there\u2019s a significant pool of capital seeking a new home.<\/p>\n

India offers structural advantages \u2014 relatively safe borders, a growing engineering and AI talent base, and a large local consumer market,” he added.<\/p>\n
