Bollywood actress Janhvi Kapoor has finally reacted to the trolling she faced after a video of her chanting \u2018Bharat Mata Ki Jai\u2019 at a Dahi Handi event in Mumbai went viral. The actress <\/span>attended a Janmashtami event in Ghatkopar, Mumbai, on Saturday, and as <\/span>she broke the matki with a coconut, she shouted \u2018Bharat Mata Ki Jai\u2019. <\/span>Her chant left many netizens amused, with some joking that she had mixed up Independence Day with Janmashtami, since the chant is usually heard on national occasions. Now, the Param Sundari shared the context behind the viral clip, claiming that the video had been selectively edited. She shared the full video, and despite the trolling, she said that she will express her patriotism every day, on every occasion.<\/span><\/p>\n

Janhvi Kapoor took to her Instagram stories to share the full video clip for context. In the video, BJP MLA Ram Kadam can be heard saying \u201cBolo Bharat Mata Ki Jai,” after which Janhvi Kapoor joins in with the chant and breaks the matki. Clapping back at the trolls, the actress wrote, \u201cJust for context full video lol. Unke bolne ke baad nahi bolti toh problem, aur bolo toh bhi video ko kaat ke meme material. (laughing emoji) Waise sirf Janmashtami ke din nahi, roz bolungi Bharat mata ki jaiiiii. (If I didn\u2019t say it after they did, that would\u2019ve been a problem. And if I do say it, the video gets edited and turned into meme material. By the way, not just on Janmashtami \u2014 I\u2019ll say Bharat Mata Ki Jai every single day).”<\/p>\n

After the video of Janhvi Kapoor breaking the Dahi Handi matki went viral, many joked that Janhvi confused Independence Day with Janmashtami. While some viewers laughed it off as an innocent mistake, others were quick to label it a \u201cdumb goof-up.”<\/p>\n

One user wrote on X, \u201cI request all Bollywood celebrities, please don\u2019t ruin Hindu festival celebrations. If you are here for promotions, kindly understand the festival and its importance.” Another quipped on Instagram, \u201cRotated so hard between occasions and festivals this week that she forgot their names and reasons.”<\/p>\n

On the work front, Janhvi Kapoor is gearing up for the release of her upcoming film Param Sundari, opposite Sidharth Malhotra. She is currently promoting the film in Lucknow. The film is slated to hit theatres on August 29.<\/p>\n
