Kangana Ranaut said that, while growing up, she was not okay with the way she was treated<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n

Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut recently opened up about her childhood, recalling that she was not okay with many things, particularly the way she was treated. She said that when families would gather and talk, there were often \u2018demeaning\u2019 remarks made about girls, even within their own families. She recalled that conversations would include criticizing the girls\u2019 manners, and blaming parents for not teaching them properly. The actress also revealed that her father used to really \u2018demean\u2019 her by saying that she would have to study hard to marry into a \u2018good\u2019 family.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In a conversation with Hauterrfly, Kangana Ranaut said, \u201cMy father used to be like- \u2018Tumhe toh bohot padhai karni padegi agar tumhe chahiye ki tumhaari shaadi aise ghar mein ho. He used to really demean me ki \u2018Padhogi nahi to aage nahi badhogi and you won\u2019t be able to find a good life partner\u2019. (My father used to say, \u2018You\u2019ll have to study really hard if you want to marry into a good family.\u2019 He used to really demean me, saying, \u2018If you don\u2019t study, you won\u2019t move ahead,\u2019 or \u2018You won\u2019t be able to find a good life partner\u2019).”<\/p>\n

She further added that she was very clear that she did not envision that kind of a life for herself. \u201cMujhe ek baat pata thi ki wo jis tarah ka life offer kar rahe hain, even bohot achha hai, but mujhe he nahi chahiye. Thank you very much. (But one thing I knew \u2014 the kind of life he was offering me, even if it was really good\u2026 I just didn\u2019t want it),” said Kangana.<\/p>\n

She further added that taking accountability for one\u2019s own dreams is really necessary. \u201cThis is what I want to say to Gen Z, because it wasn\u2019t really a problem for millennials. If it\u2019s your dream, whatever that dream may be, it is your dream, and you have to take complete responsibility for it. That you have to earn it. Not your husband, not your father or mother or some friend,” said Kangana.<\/p>\n

On the professional front, Kangana was last seen in Emergency, a film she directed, co-produced, and wrote.<\/p>\n
